This past July, we shared with you our plans to activate the Front Plaza. With your valuable feedback and a bold vision in mind for creating downtown San Antonio’s premier outdoor space, we are pleased to introduce Weston Common. 

This project has undergone incredible progress since we first told you about this space activation. Now, we are happy to share that Weston Common is set to open in early July, 2021!

Get to Know Weston Common

Welcome to your new favorite outdoor destination in downtown San Antonio! Formerly called the Front Plaza, Weston Common will now serve as the main entrance to Weston Centre. 

All along, it has been incredibly important for us to create a space that meets the needs of our guests. We relied on your feedback to create a space that does just that. With the extensive feedback, we gathered from Weston Centre tenants and the general public before the design planning of Weston Common began, the final design is one we are very excited about. And we think you will be too!

Summed up, the top design renovation requests for Weston Common were: for it to include modern features while being multifunctional to accommodate happy hours, live music performances, and outdoor fitness classes.

To ensure the new outdoor green space satisfies and fulfills the needs of its guests, it will include all of those features and more.

Key Features and Fast Facts

Weston Common measures around 12,500 square feet in total and will include a 2,000 square foot turfed area. This means there will be plenty of room for a variety of activities and amenities.

Included in those amenities is ample seating, hi-speed internet, charging stations, and shaded areas. There is also a large turf area where regularly scheduled fitness and wellness classes will be offered by Xtend Fitness & Wellness. Guests can also get food and refreshments from CommonWealth Coffee (located in the main lobby of Weston Centre). Landscape architecture was provided by TBG Partners of San Antonio. The existing oak trees are being retained. However, new ornamental grasses and plants are being added to create a more inviting atmosphere.

Located a block from Weston Urban’s Legacy Park, we hope to work with their planning team along with other outdoor spaces in San Antonio and partner with them for public events. The general public as well as Weston Centre tenants will have access to the space and it can be rented for public and private events in downtown San Antonio.
