As you are aware, we are in the process of replacing our rooftop cooling tower. The new cooling tower equipment will be placed on the roof by a helicopter. We were scheduled to do our helicopter lifts over the upcoming weekend. Unfortunately, due to the weather forecast, we had to move this to Monday, March 15th. Our preference was to do this work over a weekend so as not to disrupt a weekday, but that has become impossible. Should there be any issues and we are delayed, then the same schedule will apply on Tuesday. We will notify the tenants if this work will extend into Tuesday.
Due to these circumstances, we would strongly ask any tenants that can, to work from home that day. The ingress and egress to our building will be very difficult while this work is being performed. There will be no pedestrian traffic allowed on the streets in the area marked in red on the attached map. The Upper Garage will be completely closed off on Monday as Traffic control will have Soledad Street barricaded off between Pecan Street and Travis Street. All tenants working on Monday will need to park in the Lower Garage and enter/exit via Pecan Street. The gates will be raised for access. Tenants will need their access devices to enter the glass doors at the Elevator Landings. You will need to be onsite and parked no later than 9:00 am. You can exit the lower garage only from the Pecan side and only at the designated times.
If there are tenants that prefer to park at an alternate location on Monday, the lot at 327 W. Martin will be open for tenant parking. Tenants may also park at the Wyndham Hotel Garage. If you park at either of these locations, you will need to enter the Wyndham Hotel from the Martin Street side and go down to the Lower Lobby and access our building through the tunnel. The tunnel will bring you to the B-2 level of Weston Centre’s lower garage. From there you can take the elevator to the lobby. For those tenants parking at the Wyndham, please pay for your parking and obtain a receipt. Present your receipt to the Courtesy Desk and they will be able to reimburse you for any charges incurred on Tuesday.
There will only be two ways to enter Weston Centre; 1) via the tunnel on B-2 or 2) the lower parking garage entrance on Pecan.
I know there will be many tenants that will want to watch this happening, but again, you may only watch outside the areas marked in red on the attached map or from within your offices. There will be fourteen (14) Traffic Officers posted in the area marked in red. We will also have guards posted in Weston Centre at all lobby doors, Pecan Street entrance/exit to the Lower Garage and in the Upper Garage to ensure that no one tries to exit the building or gain access to the rooftop of the garage while the helicopter is in flight.
I have included a schedule below of the times the helicopter will be in flight and also the times that Traffic Control will allow busses and Wyndham and Weston Centre traffic to pass through Pecan Street. Please be aware that these times are estimates and are subject to change, but our goal is to follow this schedule as closely as possible. There could be extended wait times if parking in the lower garage.
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, but time is of the essence to get this work completed when the weather is good.
