In light of the 2020 Election coming up on Tuesday, November 3rd, Weston Centre will be prepared in the event there is any civil unrest in the Downtown area. We take these things very seriously and want to do everything possible to protect our Building and its tenants. Therefore, until further notice, we have put the following actions into place in order to better secure the building and deter any vandalism.
From Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm through Friday morning at 7 am, we will have three additional Courtesy Officers and one Off Duty Police Officer posted on the exterior of the building in the evenings and through the night. During the day, we will have two additional Courtesy Officers and one Off Duty Police Officer posted on the exterior of the building.
Each night at 5 pm, we will close and barricade off the Pecan Entrance and Exit at the Lower Garage. After 5 pm, please use the Soledad entrance and exit to enter and exit the Lower Garage. At 7 pm, we will barricade off the entrances and exits to both the Upper and Lower Garages at Soledad. However, there will be an officer posted in that area to move the barricades as needed so that tenants and their guests can enter and exit the garages. Salinas Street will also be barricaded off at 6 pm each evening. All barricades will be removed at 7 am each morning at all garage entry and exits as well as Salinas Street.
We will also use the barricades to block off the arches at River Level as well as the stairwell that leads up from the river. The gate on the back plaza will be locked at 6 pm on Tuesday and will remain locked for the remainder of the week.
On Tuesday, the Cleaning Crew will start cleaning the building between 3 pm – 4 pm and will leave no later than 8 pm. They will start cleaning in unoccupied spaces first.
On Tuesday afternoon, the chairs and tables on the back plaza will be pulled and brought into the building.
As recommended by Centro San Antonio, we will be covering all windows and doors at the street level with black Visqueen. This will include both the BBVA Bank Space and Commonwealth.
