Hemisfair Park will have a bit more pep next week with the debut of CommonWealth Coffeehouse & Bakery’s newest location. Owner José Ramón Campos said customers can get a peek at the brand’s new shop at 611 Hemisfair Plaza Way during the Luminaria arts festival 7 p.m.-midnight Nov. 10. The shop will open for regular business hours the following week on Nov. 14.
CommonWealth has three existing shops in the city, the first launched in Alamo Heights in 2014. The Hemisfair spot will offer the same lineup of coffees and pastries as its sister stores plus several small dinner options, meat and cheese boards and beer and wine.
CommonWealth is growing at a rapid clip, with the Hemisfair property to be followed closely by a new store in Weston Centre and two more near North Central Baptist Hospital. Campos said additional locations could join that portfolio in the future, but plans had not been completed for further expansion.
